These DIY Flower Tattoos make pretty petals into a fun idea.

Here at Design Twins, we’re constantly peeking at magazines, blogs and websites to find design inspiration (and then share with you, of course). Recently, our creativity was sparked when we realized there was such a thing as making temporary flower tattoos out of, get this, real flowers. No needles or permanent placements necessary! Nothing makes us happier than beautiful plants and luscious flowers, thus we were totally in awe at this idea that makes for a great DIY project for little ones or adults — not mention, a great photo opt.

So how does it work? All that is required is a bunch of your favorite small flowers in colours and shapes that correspond (the brighter, the better), a book for pressing, tweezers and Vaseline for an adhesive (although you can use eyelash glue, if you wish). While the old-fashioned book technique can take quite sometime to press flowers, you can speed the process along by drying your petals for 30 seconds in the microwave — face down on a paper towel on top of a plate, then put another paper towel on top of the blossoms and then press them down with another plate.

The pretty artwork lasts about four to five hours and cleanly peels off. Maybe you’re heading to a music festival and want to embrace your inner goddess? Whatever the case may be, we’re having a lot of fun with this idea. Let’s face it, real tattoos are a big commitment, unless your 1,000% sure you’re OK with having a half-moon/favourite quote/kid’s name/etc. inked under your skin, this is the way to go.

Comely Mag did a great take on this look. Makeup artists really do think of it all…

In the meantime, here are some vases to keep your stems fresh.
